6th Grade ELA @ Your Library

All sixth grade ELA teachers want students reading 30 minutes per day and Saville Library can provide the books needed to make them successful daily readers.  Sixth grade students are required to do several book projects throughout the year.  Mrs. Savage collaborates with the ELA department to ensure that students have access to the books they need for these projects.

Book Project #1 The first book project for 6th grade ELA was assigned the first week of school.  Sixth grade students visited the library with their teacher to check out a middle school fiction book for this project.  The students are required to make a quilt square to represent their book following several instructions given to them by their teacher.  If you need a copy of the assignment, please see the teacher or stop by the library and get a copy from Mrs. Savage.

Book Project #2

The second book project will be assigned in October 1st and due October 30th.

Book Project #4
One Pager

A one–pager is a way of responding to a piece of writing on a single sheet of paper. It represents your own written and graphic interpretation of what you have read. It may be very literal (just based on the facts or information in the piece) or it may be a symbolic representation of the piece. It helps you as a reader to visualize what you are reading.
